PM-SYM pension scheme launched across Kashmir

Srinagar: The Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Mandhan (PM-SYMD) pension scheme was today launched across various districts in Kashmir and Ladakh divisions simultaneously after the Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the scheme in the country.

AT SRINAGAR: District Development Commissioner Srinagar Shahid Iqbal Chaudhary launched the PM-SYM scheme at an impressive function.

ADC Srinagar, Assistant Labour Commissioner, Labour Officer, State Project Manager, State Consultant, VLEs and a large number of beneficiaries were present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion DDC said that the pension scheme will benefit a large number of workers in the unorganized sector and this scheme ensures pension security to them. DDC also impressed upon district officer for creating mass awareness among the people about the scheme to get maximum results.

AT BUDGAM: Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Budgam, Khurshid Ahmad Shah launched the scheme at ceremony cum awareness programme at district level held at New Conference Hall, Budgam.

ACD Budgam Waseem Raja, AD Employment Budgam Hafsa Qayoom, BDOs and officials from different departments were present on the occasion. Besides, hundreds of unorganized workers across the district also participated in the awareness programme.

Urging unorganized workers to register themselves under the scheme, the ADC said that Budgam has been on the top by registering highest number of workers and distributing highest number of registration cards among the workers in Jammu and Kashmir so far. He said that registration process is going on in full swing at 170 Common Service Centers, while as additional registration centers have been set at BDO offices in the district to ensure maximum registrations are done on daily basis.

Pamphlets regarding the awareness of the scheme were also distributed among the participants on the occasion.

AT KULGAM: District Development Commissioner Kulgam Dr. Shamim Ahmad Wani launched the scheme at a function at Rest house Chawalgam Kulgam.

Speaking on the occasion, the DDC said that the pension scheme will go a long way in ensuring financial security to large number of people engaged in unorganized sector. He said that the scheme will provide security not only to the workers but to their families too. He stressed on the need to create mass awareness about this scheme so that a large number of people get benefit from it.

On the occasion DDC also distributed PM-SYM cards among beneficiaries who are enrolled under the ambit of this scheme.

Assistant Director Employment and counseling centre Kulgam, Assistant commissioner Labour Department and other district officers were present on the occasion. Besides, a large number of people from the district also participated in the function.

AT ANANTNAG: District Development Commissioner Anantnag Khalid Jahangir launched the PM-SYM Yojana, at a function, here at Dak Bunglow Khannabal Anantnag.

The function was also attended by ADCs, Dy. Director Employment and Counselling, Assistant Labour Commissioner and a large number of unorganised workers, ASHAs and Aanganwadi Workers.

Addressing the gathering, the DDC Anantnag stated that financial empowerment of unorganised sector is the need of the hour so that they can also enjoy a dignified life at a later stage of life. He directed the Labour Department Anantnag to aware the general public about the benefits of the scheme by organising awareness programmes at block level.

Registration cards were distributed among the newly enrolled beneficiaries under the said scheme by the Labour Department.

Assistant Labour Commissioner Anantnag informed that 650 registrations of unorganised workers have already been done and the process is in progress.

AT SHOPIAN: The scheme was launched during a function organised by District Employment and Counselling Centre Shopian in collaboration with District Administration at Mini-Secretariat. The event was inaugurated by Additional District Development Commissioner, Mohammad Saleem Malik in presence of Assistant Commissioner Development, Executive Officer Municipal Committee, Assistant Director Employment, Child Development Project Officers of Shopian and Keller Blocks, Career Counselling Officer Shopian and District Manager Common Service Centre Shopian.

Large number of unorganized workers and beneficiaries participated in the event.

Additional District Development Commissioner Shopian in his address stressed upon officers of Rural Development Department, Municipal Committee and ICDS Shopian to organize awareness camps in collaboration with Employment department and mobilize the eligible unorganized workers to get enrolled under PM-SYM. The PM-SYM beneficiary cards were also distributed among the unorganized workers at the end of the function.

AT GANDERBAL: District Development Commissioner Ganderbal, Hashmat Ali Khan launched the mega pension scheme, PM-SYM Yojana, for workers in the unorganized sector here in an impressive function held at Conference Hall, Mini Secretariat Ganderbal.

Speaking on the occasion DDC said that primary objective of the scheme is to offer financial security to the people with no economic backup facilities and will benefit a huge number of the workers in the unorganized sector besides ensuring pension security to them.

DDC also called for creating mass awareness among the people about the scheme to get maximum results and urged unorganized workers to register themselves at any registration center in the district.

On the occasion DDC also distributed PM-SYM cards among beneficiaries who are enrolled under the ambit of this scheme.

ADDC Ganderbal, ADC Ganderbal, CPO Ganderbal, Assistant Director Employment Ganderbal, and other district officers were present on the occasion. Besides, a large number of people from the district also participated in the grand function on the said event.

AT KUPWARA: Hundreds of participants from different sections of society participated in the launch of PM-SYM

Additional Deputy Commissioner Kupwara Farooq Ahmad Baba, Assistant Commissioner Revenue Bashir Ahmad, DTO, ALC, District Manager CSC Javid Maqbool were present on the occasion.

On the occasion ADC Kupwara also distributed the PM-SYM pension cards to select beneficiaries.

ADC stressed upon the participants to visit Common Service Centres to get themselves registered and avail the benefits of the scheme. He also directed VLEs to work with extra zeal and zest and complete the registration process within stipulated time.

AT BANDIPORA: Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Shahbaz Ahmad Mirza Tuesday formally launched the PM-SYM, in Bandipora district after the Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the scheme in the country.

DC Bandipora urged the unorganised workers to enroll themselves to avail the benefit of this scheme. He said the PM-SYM is a mega pension scheme for unorganised sector and is a voluntary and contributory pension scheme that will benefit as many as 10 thousand workers of the district in the unorganised sector.

Earlier Joint Director Planning Imtiyaz Ahmad, Chief Education Officer Javid Iqbal and Assistant Labour Commissioner Ashiq Hussain also spoke and highlighted different aspects of the scheme.

AT BARAMULLA: Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Dr G N Itoo formally launched PM-SYM scheme here at a grand function which marked the participation of a huge gathering of beneficiaries.

Speaking on the occasion, the DC said that the scheme provides social and economic security to the vulnerable sections of the society. He urged for availing the benefits of the scheme and impressed upon disseminating awareness so that more and more beneficiaries are brought into its ambit.

Meanwhile, Dr Itoo distributed registration cards among 30 beneficiaries to mark the symbolic representation of the scheme where he was informed that about 2000 beneficiaries have been registered wherein the DC stressed for achieving the target within stipulated timeframe.

Among the other ADC Baramulla, ADC Sopore, district and sectoral officers were present on the occasion.

AT KARGIL: Executive Councillor for Social Welfare Aga Syed Mujtaba launched PM-SYM pension scheme for unorganized workers at Video Conference Hall of District Informatics Centre Kargil.

Executive Councillor for Tourism and Zanskar Affairs Er Punchoq Tashi, Deputy Director Employment and Counseling Centre Kargil Haji Muhammad Baqir, Deputy District Election Officer Kargil Nargis Banoo, District Manager Common Service Centre (CSC) Mehboob Hussain besides several district officers were resent on the occasion.

The dignitaries, officers and unorganized workers present on the occasion also watched the live telecast of the launch of the Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maan-dhan (PM-SYM) Yojana by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, today at Vastral in Gujarat.

Speaking on the occasion, the EC while underlining the importance of this pension scheme for the benefit of the people in the unorganized sector stressed upon the concerned officers to organize awareness programmes in every block of the district so that maximum number of beneficiaries are covered under the ambit of the scheme.

AT PULWAMA: Additional Deputy Commissioner Pulwama Chowdary Mohammad Yasin launched PM-SYM Scheme in presence of Assistant Director Employment and Counselling Centre, Pulwama here at IGS Lassipora Pulwama.

Speaking on the occasion, ADC said that PM-SYM is a voluntary contributory pension scheme for unorganised workers under which labourers working in different sectors get monthly pension of Rs 3000 after attaining the age of 60 years. He stressed upon concerned officers and officials to mobilize their field functionaries so that eligible unorganized workers get enrolled under PM-SYM at the earliest.

Later on, PM-SYM beneficiary cards were also distributed among the unorganized workers.

District Manager Common Service Centre Pulwama and large number of unorganized workers and beneficiaries were present on the occasion.

AT LEH: Additional Deputy Commissioner Leh Sachin Kumar launched the scheme at Leh by distributing PM-SYM cards to some applicants at DC Conference Hall.

Deputy Director Employment Tsering Paldan, CMO Leh Motup Dorjey, Chief Agriculture Officer Tashi Tsetan, District Manager Common Service Centre (CSC) Tsering Angmo, concerned officials, Sarpanchs, nambardars, and villagers in large number from Leh and nearby villages also witnessed the launch programme.

The officials said that applicants can get themselves registered at various camps being held at different villages and at District Employment Office Leh starting tomorrow.
