Valley shuts against harassment of Kashmiris in Jammu, elsewhere

Srinagar: Complete shutdown is being observed in Kashmir valley against the harassment and attacks on Kashmiris by mobsters in Jammu division of the state and in other parts of India.

Traders fraternity had called for a strike and was backed by Kashmir Economic Alliance and Kashmir Traders and Manufacturers Federation, Transporters too had supported the call.

All the business establishments are closed across the valley including in Pulwama, Shopian, Kulgam, Islamabad, Qazigund, Srinagar, Baramulla, Sopore, Kupwara and in Ganderbal district as well.

The traders bodies have demanded the safety of Kashmiri traders and students outside the valley.

They have threatened to cut off business ties with Jammu-based traders in case the attacks on Kashmiris in Jammu were not stopped immediately.

Curfew remains imposed in Jammu for third straight day.
