Ganderbal: To crack whip on drug abuse police on Wednesday were able to nab five drug peddlers in Ganderbal district and recovered contraband substance from their possession. 

The arrests were made in Manasbal Safapora area of Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Wednesday.

According to officials a Naka Party from Police Station Safapora headed by SHO Safapora after a credible input of the route being used by drug peddlers.

“The five persons were arrested and the car they were travelling in, a Santro car bearing registration No. HRO9P 9454, was siezed,” police official said.

During the search, 15 kg of poppy straw in a gunny-bag recovered from their possession.

The accused have been identified as Zubair Manzoor shah Son of Manzoor Ahmad Shah,  Shahid Manzoor Manto Son of Manzoor Ahmad Manto, Bashatat Ahmad Das Son of Mohammad Rafiq Das Resident of Waghama Bejibhera,
Shabir Ahmad Hajam Son of Ab Rashid Hajam and Arif Ahmad Shelkh Son of Ab Ahad Shenkh Resident of Kurhama Ganderbal.
