Jammu: The Valley bound stranded passengers in Jammu have been shifted to Techinal Airport Satwari due to clashes that erupted on Monday after they were stone pelted by college students.

Top source confided to INS that the 2700 people who were kept at Mufti Hostel have been shifted to Techinal Airport as their is threat that they might again be threatened.

“When the buses which would take them to technical airport were leaving the premises of Mufti hostel they were again stone pelted. But situation was brought under control,” sources said.

Clashes erupted when a students of Science college jammu stone pelted valley  bound stranded passengers and shouted slogans like ‘goli maro ….. ko’, Pakistan murdabad’.

Police had to cane charge the rioting students to pacify the situation.

According to officials some miscreants shouted Pro Pakistan slogans that created ruckus in the area.

“The stranded passengers should not feel threatened and to calm down hightened tensions it was deemed fit to shift them to other place,” he said.

They said that 300 passengers were airlifted on Monday and rest too will be airlifted to valley in a phased manner.
