BASHARAT RASHID
Tral: The residents of Midoora village in Tral on Sunday staged protest demonstration, demanding up-gradation of High school to higher secondary in the area.
The aggrieved residents said that the government High School in Midoora was established in 1981 and till the date it hasn’t been upgraded to 10+2 level “due to the reasons better known to concerned authorities”
According to them, the school shall be upgraded in all the respects as “land is available there besides large number of government and private schools are running in and around the village with good student capacity.”
The protesters including children who were holding placards in their hands said that students face inconveniences while going to Noorpora and Awantipora higher secondary institutes as the areas are very far from Midoora.
They said that high school at Midoora cater to the villages like Nanar, Takiya, Kharpora, Khankah, Arampora, and Check, which “literally indicates that high school deserves upgradation to Higher secondary”
“Many delegations from Midoora met CEO Pulwama and other officials regarding upgradation of the High School to Higher Secondary Level but due to some unknown reasons, they didn’t submit the feasibility report to DSEK,” said the protesters.
The protesters demanded immediate upgradation of high school to higher secondary in the area to mitigate the problems of students.
