Police closes Boniyar youth’s death case say evidences prove that it was a suicide

Baramulla: Police on Wednesday closed the case of the Boniyar youth’s death saying that the evidences have proven that he had committed suicide.

In a statement Police said that this is in reference with death of one Azim Nazir S/O Nazir Ahmad Khan R/O Uranboa Boniyar at Azad Gunj Baramulla in which case FIR No 207/2018 was registered in police station Baramulla and accordingly a Special Investigation Team of police (SIT)was constituted to investigate the matter.

“The team has thoroughly investigated the matter,collected the evidence and questioned 32 people regarding this,” Police said.

Police said that it was revealed during the course of investigation that the deceased was in relationship with a girl (name withheld) from Rajasthan and the couple had recently broken up which the deceased was unable to come to terms with. Unable to bear the shock as an extreme measure he hanged himself.

“The electronic,circumstantial, medical and forensic evidence also established the hanging by rope. Also the statements of witnesses who had knowledge of the circumstances and events there of,recorded before the Hon’ble court substantiated the same,” police said, adding that the injuries in eye and ear were also established by medical and forensic experts to have been inflicted after the death,most likely by rodents.

Accordingly matter has been closed as case of suicide.
