Srinagar: Internet services were snapped at midnight, almost 14 hours prior to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s arrival in Srinagar and restored at 9 p.m., hours after he returned back even as a complete shutdown was observed across Kashmir Valley on the call by Joint Resistance Leadership.
An official said the internet service were suspended as a precautionary measure in view of PM’s visit to state.
Meanwhile, all shops and other business establishments were closed while traffic was off the roads in entire Valley. There were massive security arrangements across Valley epically Srinagar and more particularly within the several kilometers of SKICC, the venue for Modi’s address followed by interaction with selected sarpaches and panches.
