Chief Justice stresses on child friendly court rooms in District Courts

Jammu: A two day training workshop organized by JKICPS in collaboration with Save the Children organization concluded here today.
Chief Justice of Jammu & Kashmir High Court, Justice Geeta Mittal was chief guest on the occasion.
The workshop was also attended by Justice (Retd) Hasnain Masoodi, Chairperson, SCOC, State Mission Director and CEO, JKICPS, G. A Sofi, Member SCOC Mr. Rajiv Khajuria, General Manager Save the Children J&K, Mohammad Sharief Bhat.
The officials from CWCs, JJBs, DCPUs, Childline, SJPUs also participated in the workshop.
The Chief Justice stressed upon establishing separate Child friendly Court rooms in District Courts of the State. She also appreciated work done by Save the Children by conducting training programmes in collaboration with JKICPS across 22 districts of the State. She further emphasized the importance of such workshops, which needs to be a regular feature for establishing a vibrant Child Protection Mechanism across the State.
Justice Masoodi extended heartfelt gratitude to the Chief Justice for her presence in the workshop. He also appreciated the work done by the CWCs and JJBs for the welfare of the Children of the State.
G. A Sofi, State Mission Director ICPS highlighted the key achievements of the Department.
Rajiv Khajuria, Member SCOC emphasized on State Child Rights Commission in J&K.
General Manager Save the Children, Muhammad Sharief Bhat enumerated on key challenges and way forward for further strengthening Child Protection Mechanism throughout the State.
