TRAL : The family of deceased Tral youth, who came under snow avalanche in Aru area of Pahalgam yesterday and died on the spot, have demanded compensation from the government.

His father Ab Gani Shah with wet eyes told INS that, “deceased son was my hope as he was playing an important role in overall income of family by struggling hard since his childhood”

“I am myself a labourer. My other sons are also working in private sectors. We are devastated with the death of our son,” Ab Gani Shah said, adding that “government must compensate us to let us survive without any inconveniences”

The relatives and the neighbours, who were the part of his last rites, also said that, “the family is very poor and their son was their hope who was working out for several years”

“Government should compensate to them as they are very poor and have lost an important earner in this incident,” a relative Farooq Ahmad Raina told INS.

Three persons including Mohammad Ilyas of Tral and two other men from Pahalgam area were killed after avalanche hit bulldozer in Aru Pahalgam on Friday evening.
