A delegation of students from this institute said that the school is very premier and was upgraded to higher secondary school decades back, but till date Commerce subject has not been introduced in it.

They said many other higher secondary schools in Tral and other places are newly upgraded and they have been given commerce stream soon after up-gradation, which is the injustice for girl students of Tral and adjoining areas.

“All other institutions have commerce stream but Girls school being among the oldest institutes lack this stream, which need to be concerned,” 11th class student at GGHSS Tral said.

The students have demanded immediate introduction of commerce stream in the institute to avail its benefits.

Education planning officer, Pulwama, Manzoor Ahmad Khan, when contacted, told INS that, they have already sent a proposal to higher ups for approval.

He said that once the proposal will be approved, stream will also be introduced in the institute accordingly.
