Srinagar: In an effort to comfort and assist passengers Airport authorities at Srinagar undertook various steps including installing more Cuss machines and Wheel chair facility.
Officials at the Srinagar International Airport said that in order to facilitate passengers travel there were various initiatives that authorities had marked.
“We have installed five new Cuss machines to help travellers and to save their precious time as well. It will ease the rush and long waits they had to take for completing formalities,” an official said.
He said that with the installation of new machines travellers will benefit and will be hassle free.
The airport has also installed a new Child Care Room, and a new VIP lodge as well.
“Passengers waiting outside had to face difficulties waiting for their turn to enter the premises now we have increased the seating capacity so that they can take rest and feel at ease,” he said adding that almost 500 seats have been installed afresh at different locations including at arrival and departure.
A new X Ray machine too has been installed to lower the time consumption for air travellers.
The official said that apart from these measures the airport has also began a special service for handicapped, ill and aged travellers who needed a helping hand at the airport.
“We have procured Wheel chairs for travellers who need it. They just have to ask for it and they will be provided the services. We have put Human Resource at disposal as well. We will accompany the passenger and handle the wheel chair as well if the passenger demands from entering the airport to boarding the plane,” PRO Nazir Ah Baba said while confirming the latest developments at the airport.
Director Srinagar International Airport Akashdeep Mathur said that the measures have been taken after due deliberations while taking into consideration of peoples needs.
“We are here to serve people and these changes have been taken into consideration the trust our customers have on us,” Mathur said.
Mathur said that people can contact the authorities and they will be more than happy to serve people better.
