Srinagar: Senior PDP leaders Naeem Akhtar and Khurshid Alam expressed grave unpleasantness on the eve of Republic Day as the former minister complained that they were made to sit among the junior level government employees during the parade celebrations at Bakshi Stadium.

Both Akhtar and Alam left the venue in protest.

Confirming the incident Akhtar said since he is ‘first among the protocols and leader of the largest party’ he was made to sit with low level officers.

“I was made to sit with a Tehsildar,” Akhtar said.

Khurshid Alam also left the venue and boycotted the function.

He later said that he will also boycott the in house function by governor as well.

“I will make sure action is initiated against the divisional administration over this behaviour,” he said.
