Twin blasts rock Anantnag on the eve of Republic Day, cop, civilian injured

Anantnag:  Explosions rattled Anantnag districts two areas after suspected militants hurled grenades within a span of ten minutes on Saturday.

One police man and  civilian has been injured in the incident at general bus stand Anantnag.

First explosion was heard near Police station Srigufwara in Bejbehara.

According to a CID official suspected militants hurled grenade towards the police station.

In a span of ten minutes another explosion rocked the area in General Bus stand where militants hurled another grenade at a police chowki.

“One policeman is injured. He has received bullet in leg,” official confided.

According to locals some gunshots were also heard in the area.

An official identified the cop as Sajad Ahmad,  constable.

He has bullet injury in left thigh.

A civilian,  Abid Hussain received face injuries.

Both have been hospitalized.
