‘Humanity is dead’: Protest in Kupwara over LD incident

Kupwara: Scores of people from different parts of Sogam, Lolab and Kalaroose here on Sunday held a protest demonstration against the failure of Srinagar’s Lal Dad hospital doctors for not admitting a pregnant woman from border district as a consequence of which she delivered on road and her baby died.
Reports said that scores of people including students held a protest demonstration in favour of the Kalaroose family.
The protesters marched in the main Sogam market and raised slogans against the hospital administration.
The protesters raised slogan like, “Mar Chuki Hai Mar Chuki Hai, insaniyat Mar Chuki Hai” (the humanity is dead) and “we want justice for Kalaroose family”.
The protesters demanded stern action against erring doctors and sought intervention of the authorities to terminate the employee found involved in “throwing out” of the lady that too late in the night.
The protesters marched from main market Sogam to Community Health centre and raised slogans in favour of the Kalaroose family.
The protesters also demanded cash relief to family, terming the incident as immense loss. The protesters later dispersed peacefully.
