Srinagar: Government forces launched Cordon and Search Operation in city center lal chowk on Saturday.

According to eye witnesses large contingent of forces including Army, police and CRPF personnel arrived in the city center and erected barricades.

Commuters are being frisked and buildings around the clock tower are also being checked.

Forces are present on the building rooftops around Ghanta Ghar.

“Drones have been pressed into services as well to survey the area,” eyewitnesses said.

The officials however said that its routine checking ahead of Republic Day celebrations.
