Ladakh rescue operation:  Three bodies recovered so far, operation going on

Ladakh:  Threr bodies have been recovered so far from the  ten people buried under the snow avalanche in Khardungla Pass Ladakh.

A source claimes that SDRF, GREF and Army are on the jjo.

A journalist from Ladakh told INS that the lastest information they are being told by officials isb that three bodies have been recovered.

“The possibility of survival is thin but the operation is going on in the area which is near the India Gate,” Rinchen Reach told INS over phone.

An official earlier said that Army from Siachen Base camp too had joined the operation.

Earlier Border Roads Organisation under Project Himank had also pressed into service its jawans with equipment for rescue operation of ten persons who were stuck under snow due an avalanche at Khardungla Pass in Leh.

Officials of the Project Himank said that the men and its machinery has been swiftly pressed into service to rescue the stuck persons.
“Today morning at around 7am an avalanche occurred near Khardongla Top and  a Tipper with about ten persons on board got buried under the avalanche,” he said.

Official confirmation of the recovering bodies is awaited.
