Kupwara: Amid snowfall the inhabitants of Kawari in northern Kashmirs kupwara district held a protest demonstration against the local store Keeper for collecting over 1500 Rupees from every householder for sanctioning a free Gas Cylinder under Central Government approved scheme Ujvala Youjna Central sponsored scheme for poor people across India.

“Sajad Ahmad Shah, working as  Government Employee has collected a hefty amount from the Below poverty Level and IAY householders for awarding free Gas Cylinder,” protesters alleged.

They said that Government of India has awarded a free centrally sponsored scheme for poor people.

“In our hamlet we have been charged over 1500 Rupees to avail a single connection by our Store keeper,” they alleged.

They said that not a single connection was provided for free despite when Government has already claimed to award it for free to all the poor people.

Sarpanchs of the area, Ghulam Mohammad said that all the people residing here in Kawari don’t have a proper livelihood.
