Pulwama:Parents are the real change makers in life and when this boy lost vision due to pellets they made him realise that there is no stopping in life and the real brave fight till end.
“Yes it’s a dream of every parent to see their children at the top. In my case they wanted to make me realise that losing hope is the actual loss,” Nayeem Ahmad Thoker told IN.
Nayeem, s/o G H Ahmad Thoker lives in Chandgam village of Pulwama district.
Nayeem, passed his standard 12 exams recently in Commerc.
Losing eyesight had crushed him and had lost hope of studying ‘but due to the support of Parents especially my mother which gives me immense courage to work hard’
Even though Nayeem didn’t become part of toppers but this ‘success means a lot to him and parents’.
“This has rather come as a lesson to him and others who have suffered like him that nothing can stop us. Boys like my son are no lesser than anyone else,” his father said.
Nayeem belongs to poor family and his father runs a shop in Village who is the only income source to family.
Nayeem has a sister as well.
After Nayeem’s incident his mother has developed cardiac ailments.
Nayeem’s father said that on 24 January 2018 Government Forces launched Cordon and serach operation in Chandgam VVillag.
As the joint forces launched search youth came out on streets and pelted stones on forces to disrupt the anti militancy operation.
Forces in retailation fired tear smoke cansisters and Pellets to the Protesters.
Nayeem was not part of that protest, he was running towards home as protests erupted but one of the forces personnel fired directly pellets on him.
He was rushed to the near by Hospital where from he was shifted to SMHS Srinagar.
“In an emergency operation by doctors, they remove his left eye which was injured and completely damaged. That was big jolt to all of us,” he said.
He said that after days another surgery was done and an artificial eye was fixed to Nayeem.s
“He can only see from his right eye, ” he said.
