Anantnag: 12 year old girl Alak Shafi from south Kashmir’s Veeri Village in Anantnag district has won a gold medal in 2nd Open International Taekwondo Championship 2018.

The championship was organized by Taekwondo Sport’s Association in Punjab Amritsar from 29-31 December 2018 last year.

The Event was supported by Association of Taekwondo India and Martial Arts Authority of India.

According to reports various countries participating including Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Sri lanka, Thailand and Uzbekistan Participated in 2nd Open International Taekwondo Championship 2018.

Talking to the INS Alaka Said that “I am very happy to win this medal. I had been practicing for this since last three years, it was difficult, but I still won the medal,” a delighted Alaka told news agency INS after his achievement.

Added that i am thankful to my parents, Teacher’s, Coach etc who Inspired and Supported me. Kashmiri youngsters have more talent in every field but due to financial crisis we are unable to show our talent. We appeal government to help us financially so that we can show our talent and set platform for others. She added.

Earlier Alaka had Won Four Gold Medals in Taekwondo Championships, Two at District Level and Two at State level respectively.

According to reports three Teenage boys  belongs from  South Kashmir also make entire Jammu Kashmir Proud by Winning 2 Gold Medals,1 Silver and 1 Bronze Medal in a 2nd Open International Taekwondo Championship 2018.

After Winning Medals, People include relatives neighbors welcomed Them with Showering Candies, wearing Garland and Busted Fire cracker to celebrate their Victory.
