Govt Declares Old SPS Museum Building As State Protected Monument

Govt forms PMG to remove ‘impediments’ in SPS Museum Project

Srinagar: The government has Old SPS Museum Building along with four kanals of land as State Protected Monument.
“In exercise of powers conferred by Sub-Section (1) of Section 3 of Jammu & Kashmir Ancient Monuments Preservation Act, Samvat, 1977(1920-AD) (Act No. V of 1977), the Government on the recommendations of the Director, Archives, Archaeology & Museums, hereby declare the Old SPS Museum Building, Lalmandi, Srinagar, alongwith land measuring 03 Kanals and 11 Marlas falling under Khasra No 1079 (Ghar Mumkin Ajayab Ghar) and 11 Marlas falling under Khasra No. 1080, total land measuring 04 Kanals 02 Marlas, as “State Protected Monument” within the meaning of the said Act,” reads a notification issued by state’s Commissioner Secretary Department Culture.
