14-Hour Tral encounter ends as militant flees

Tral : A day-long gunfight in Aripal village of Tral on Saturday concluded without any casualty to militants. The firefight and combing operation continued for around 14-hours. The gunfight had ensued after a cordon and search operation was launched by government forces in Aripal village in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district early Saturday morning.
During the operation, a CRPF man of 180 BN CRPF was injured after he received a bullet in his neck, while as a residential house was razed to ground by forces with blasts.
An official said that CASO was launched in the area after “specific inputs” about the presence of a militant.
The search operation soon turned into encounter and continued through the day and ended at about 10 p.m.
