Pulwama: Locals in South Kashmir’s Pampore in Pulwama district staged a protest demonstration against the power development department for resorting to unscheduled power cuts.
Local sources said that protesters assembled at Drangbal chowk on Srinagar-Jammu National highway in Pampore area. Protesters including women raised slogans against the concerned authorities for failing to provide them with better power supply.
“Vehicular movement was halted for sometime due to protests,” eye witnesses said, adding that PDD officials and police reached the spot and assured the protesters of better power supply.
“After the assurance of better power supply, protests were ended,” they said.
