TRAL: Two militants were killed in an encounter between militants and government forces at Dooru area of Anantnag in south Kashmir, police said on Saturday .
The anti militancy operation began Friday evening.
According to officials involved in the operation they were acting on specific information of presence of militants and  a joint team of 19RR, CRRPF and SOG launched a cordon-and-search operation at Shestergam.
“There were specific inputs about presence of some militants in the area during last night,” officials said.
“As the search operation was going on, the militants opened fire towards the forces, triggered encounter there.”
Police on Saturday morning has said that the encounter is over and two militants were killed and arms & ammunition were als recovered.
They said that there is no collateral damage and identification is being ascertained.
