Ganderbal: Burglars have decamped with 250 KV transformer of  power transformer in Tehlipora Haran area of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district during intervening night of Monday-Tuesday.

According to Xen PDD Javaid Ahmad Ganderbal the persons have taken benefit of the night and the curtailment that was under effect yesterday.

“There are almost seventy houses in the area who have been effected,” he said.

Locals were shocked to see that the place of installation empty.

“It is an organised burglary. You cannot simply takeaway transformer unless a vehicle and several people are involved,” locals said, adding that department should look into the matter as to  how the transformer just vanished.

When contacted SHO Ganderbal Arshid Ahmad said that a case has been registered FIR No 247/2018 US 379 RPC and investigation is taken up.
