Police Demolish Illegal Three-Storeyed Residential Structure of Notorious Drug Peddler Worth Approximately ₹2 Crore In Srinagar

Jammu :Stone throwing clashes erupted in Beli Charana area of Jammu today morning as hundreds of residents clashed with the Police in the area.

Sources said that a strong team of Jammu development Athority ( JDA) along with a Magistrate tried to demolish some houses with bulldozers around 4 am today.

The team tried to remove the structures around river Tavi on the directions of High Court of Jammu Kashmir.

Nazakat Hussain Khatana, a local community leader told Sachnews that there are thousands of structures around the Tavi river, however it is unfortunate and looks like they want to damage the shelter of Muslims only.

“Why did the bulldozers arrive at this Muslim populated area first, when there are dozens of other areas which are even closer to the Tavi river bed?” he asked. He demanded that the order be revoked as the families have no where else to go.

The residents initially held a protest demonstration, however as soon as a police party led by SP South and SDPO south arrived into the locality.

They tried to disperse the protesters, but the protesters regrouped in large numbers and hurled stones on them.

The people of Beli Charana have asked Kashmir politicians to intervene to save their structures as most of the residents of the area are from Kashmir.

A Police official said that some Policemen received minor injuries in the incident.

A resident saud that police used tear smoke canisters and beat some protesters resulting in injuries to 4 persons.

The SDPO south Sunniya Ashkoor Wani talked to the people of Beli Charana and after her motivation the people dispersed peacefully.

The situation is now under control .
