7 labourers from Baramulla Killed in Uttarakhand

Srinagar: Seven labourers from Baramulla district of north Kashmir were killed and one more is missing after a mountain portion caved-in while they were working during construction of a road in Uttarakhand’s Rudraprayag district on Friday.
Reports said that a group of 14-15 labourers from Baramulla were working when the incident took place.
While all of them came under the caved-in portion of the mountain, some managed to escape while eight got buried.
Seven bodies have been recovered while rescue operation for missing labourer would be resumed tomorrow, the officials said, according to the reports.
The police identified the deceased as Bilal (20) resident of Uri, Sibbeer (30) of Bagna Baramulla, Abdul Rashid (60) of Uri, Imtiaz Ahmad (26) of Handlanga Baramulla, Mushtaq Ahmad (30) of Uri, J Hamid Sheikh (30) of Uri, and Gulzar (20) of Uri.
Some of those who managed an escape also suffered injuries and were identified as Altaf Hajam (55) son Ghulam Kadar Hassan, Handlanga village in Uri, Abbas (20) son of Subhan Shekh of Handlanga in Uri, Altaf Hussain (45) Mothal in Uri. The local administration in Rudraprayag district have also ordered a magisterial inquiry into the incident.
