Water shortage triggers protest in SaderKoot Bandipora

Bandipora: Residents of SaderKoot area in Bandipora district of north Kashmir here on Wednesday protested against the PHE department and Administration because of shortage of drinking water in their area.

Raising slogans against the PHE department, inhabitants of Ganie Mohalla blocked Srinagar – Bandipora road protesting against the callous approach of authorities.

The sit-in protest lead to the disruption of vehicular movement for several hours on the Srinagar-Bandipora road.

“We are forced to usefilthy waters from water bodies as taps in our localities have gone dry,”  protesting women said.

The protesters dispersed off peacefully following assurance by officials that their problem will be redressed on priority basis.

When contacted PHE Official, he said that with in short span of time the demand of residents will be solved.
