Srinagar : President of India Ram Nath Kovind on Wednesday issued a proclamation by virtue of which Jammu and Kashmir came under president’s rule, first time after 22 years. The rule will come into effect from midnight.
The governor’s rule was imposed when the BJP pulled out of an alliance with the PDP in June.
The Governor had dissolved the Legislative Assembly last month after regional parties including the PDP with the support o Congress and national Conference and Sajad Lone’s People’s Conference backed by BJP staked claim to form the government in the state.
