Srinagar: The Srinagar-Jammu highway, the only surface link connecting Kashmir Valley with the rest of the world, has been closed for fresh traffic on Wednesday. Official sources said that subject to fair weather and road condition, the stranded vehicles would be allowed to proceed towards their destination. “No fresh vehicle shall be allowed from either side,” the official told INS. Hundreds of vehicles were stranded on the road following a landslide at Gangroo area and efforts are underway to clear the land mass, the official added.   The historic Mughal Road connecting Kashmir with Poonch and Rajouri districts as well as the highway connecting Ladakh with the Valley continue to remain closed for the past ten days. “both the roads are closed due to snow accumulation,” the official added.
