Pulwama: Massive throng was witnessed in the funeral procession of the slain militant Zahoor Thokar in his native village Sirnoo.

“At least six funeral prayers were offered for Zahoor including four on Saturday evening and two today morning,” eyewitnesses said.

They said that after four funeral prayers on Sunday evening there was a massive rush of people at his village and the family delayed the burial for Sunday.

“Thousands participated in the two funerals held today,” they said.

Zahoor, 25, was posted with 173 Territorial Army engineering regiment at Gantmulla (Baramulla) and on 6, July 2017, he deserted his unit and fled with his service rifle to  join militant ranks.

Zahoor was killed along with two other militants in Sirnoo village in a gunbattle with government forces.
