Cartoon, quiz competitions held on Day 3 of Youth fest Sonzal at KU

Srinagar: Around fifty young artists from various degree colleges and Departments of Kashmir University (KU) participated in cartoon making and quiz competition on the third consecutive day of the youth festival Sonzal -2018 at Gandhi Bhawan of the Varsity.
Highlighting the challenges of ‘Inflation’ on a common person, the cartoon making competition also included another theme on ‘Fighting Winters’.
Young artists poured in their creativity by stokes of color pencil and also in monochrome, depicting a commoner’s resistance of the economic challenges and harsh winters in Kashmir.
The work of the participants was evaluated by a two member jury comprising famous artists of Kashmir, Masood Hussain and cartoonist Suhail Naqshbandi.
Over 30 students participated in the quiz competition and were given written test based on 55 questions in various spheres including logical reasoning, economy, polity, science and general studies.
Organizing Secretary of Sonzal and Cultural Officer of DSW, Shahid Ali Khan was the quiz master for the competition.
Organized by Division of Youth Affairs, Department of Students Welfare (DSW), KU, Sonzal 2018 is an eight day annual youth festival which shall host further competitions in elocution, collage making, poster making, clay modeling, photography, musical events, debate and other categories during the remaining days of the fest.
Debate and photography competition are scheduled for the fourth day of the fest at Gandhi Bhawan.
