Sopore:  District administration Baramulla is feigning ignorance about the proposal about mini secretariat for which the same office has identified land and put forward a DPR of almost 22 crore rupees.

Four years back the idea came up and in last year i.e 2017 the district administration created the proposal for establishing mini secretariat in Sopore sub division of Baramulla district.

Assistant Deputy Commissioner of the district claimed that he has already shot a reminded letter to Deputy Commissioner of the district on the same.

However DC Baramulla denied receiving any reminders from ‘any source on the same project’.

“I have not received any letter from any body on this issue.  Still I will check, if there is any,” he said denying any knowledge about the project.

Sources inside the DC office confided that the idea of establishing mini secretariat in Sopore propped up four years back and only in 2017 district administration took the matter seriously.

“Former DC Baramulla asked the ADC  to shot a proposal and create a DPR,” sources said.

“The previous ADC Sopore Khurshaid Shah had identified the land in cooperative garden Sopore for the mini secretariat , 52 canals and 11 marls. He prepared a DPR report with a budget of 48 crores, buy it was declined by DC and was sent back for further changes. ADC cut the cost of mini secretariat to 22 crores and it was agreed by the DC,” sources said.

INS contacted governor’s advisor B.B Vyas, who also said that he has no idea about the issue.

“I am unaware of this project. I will first confirm it from authorities and will bring to the governor’s notice,” Vyas said.
