Srinagar: A family from Sopore has identified the second militant slain with Naveed Jatt in Chatergam area of Central Kashmir’s Budgam district yesterday.

Reports said that Sopore family has identified the slain as as Mehraj ud Din Sofi of New colony Sopore.

“We have handed over the body of the militant to the family after all legal formalities,” a police officer was quoted in reports .

Sofi was a OGW, police claims, and was arrested during a naka in october 2018.

Four days into custody Sofi gave police a slip and escaped from Police station. “He then formally joined militant ranks,” a police officer said.

Pertinently Naveed Jatt too escaped from the custody after he was being taken for a medical checkup at SMHS from Central Jail Srinagar.
