Srinagar: Peoples Democratic Party chief Mehbooba Mufti on Monday ruled out possibility of going court against the abrupt dissolution of the state legislative house by the governor Satya Pal Malik last week.
Instead, the former Chief Minister said that she in her “considered opinion” believes it was time to go to the the “people’s court which is superior to any other forum.”
“Some sincere suggestions from well wishers for me to go to court against Governor’s dissolution of assembly. PDP, NC, INC had come together to safeguard state interests. It is my considered opinion that we must go to people’s court which is superior to any other forum,” Mehbooba tweeted. Last Wednesday Governor Malik had dissolved Assembly, minutes after PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti wrote to the Governor staking claim to form the government in alliance with the NC and the Congress. Opposition parties had condemned the Governor’s decision to dissolve the assembly abruptly, terming the move as “politically-motivated.”
