Srinagar: Army on Monday said that they have been tracking movement of militants that helped them to bust militant module, in killing pakistani militant and arrest of another local militant.

CO 50 RR Col Samar Raghav told a presser here that the arrested militant had joined the ranks only four month back.

On Sunday a Pakistani militant was killed and a local militant was arrested after a shoot out at Khrew’s Bathien area in Awantipora.

“We were tracking their movement since a month. We nabbed several Over Ground Workers of Jaish-e-Mohammed & busted their racket. We found location of a Pak militant & Sohail Lone,” Raghav said.

Raghav said the anti militancy operation on Sundya was jointly conducted by Army, Police and CRPF.

Raghav identified the slain and the detained as Waseem of Pakistan, a A++ category militant and Suhail Nisan Lone, R/O Khrew, a category C militant respectively.

“Suhail joined militancy four months back. His mother and sisters had appealed him to come back. That time, we promised his mother that if he comes in front of us we will not neutralise him. And true to our words, despite his firing at us, we exercised maximum restraint and overpowered him,” Raghav claimed.

“Today it was proud moment that we have fulfilled our promise and given opportunity to a misled youth join the mainstream,” he said.

“1 AK 47, 3- Magazines and 2 grenades were recovered from Pak militant, and 1 pistol 1 magazine and 1 grenade were recovered from Suhail,” he said.
