Baramulla : Lt Gen AK Bhatt, GOC 15 corps Friday termed killing of six militants including top Lashkar e taiba commander Azad Malik in the Bijbehara encounter a “major success’ and was a ‘surgical operation’.

Bhatt was speaking to media on the sidelines of a function in Baramulla district of north Kashmir.

“The encounter was a surgical operation and is a big achievement for security agencies as there were no casualties of forces or civilians in this operation,” Bhatt said

The Army general confided that veracity of a picture of a militant near clock tower Lal Chowk Srinagar is being verified.

“These picture could be morphed or taken long before which has gone viral on social media. Whosoever will join violence will be dealt with same manner as what has happened today,” he said.
