Srinagar: Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi, the birthday of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), is being celebrated with religious fervour across Kashmir Valley on Wednesday. Thousands of people converged at Hazratbal Shrine, which houses the Holy relic (a hair strand) of Prophet, on the banks of Dal Lake, for Fajr and Zuhr prayers. The biggest congregation so far was held on Zuhr prayers. Besides Hazratbal, congregational prayers were held at Asar-i-sharif Kalashpora, Jenab Sahib Soura, Lal Bazar, Punjura Shopian, Khiram Sirhama Anantnag, Seer Hamdan Kaba Marg Qaimoh Ahmshrief Bandipora and Hazrat Janbaz Wali (RA) Baramulla. Night long prayers were held at various shrines, masjids and Dargah Hazratbal as people offered Durood to beloved prophet . On the occasion, a festive look prevails in Valley as various Masjids and shrines in the city and elsewhere, besides various commercial malls in the civil lines areas, have been decked with lights.
In view of Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (SAW), the Islamic organizations and locals Madrasas organized Milad processions at many places where speakers highlighted various aspects of the life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
The biggest Milad procession was carried out by Karawan-e-Islami from its head office at Shaheed Gunj in which hundreds of people participated.
The Milad processions were also taken out from Habba Kadal, Bemina, Nowgam, Dalgate, Chanapora, Soibug, Kralpora, Bijbehara town and other parts of the Valley.
The reports of Milad procession were also received from other districts of the Valley.
