Multiple rounds of funerals held for 4 militants in Shopian villages

Shopian: Multiple rounds of funerals were offered by thousands of people on Tuesday to the four militants in their respective villages amid pro-freedom slogans.
The four militants– Abid Nazir Chopan of Padarpora, Basharat Nengroo of Chotigam Shopian, Mehraj-ud-Din Najar of Drawni and Malik Zada Inam-ul-Haq of Mantujan Shopian– were killed in an encounter with government forces in Nadigam village of shopian during predawn hours.
Reports reaching INS said that slain militants were laid rest in their native graveyards after thousands of people turned up in their funerals.
A police official said Abid joined militant ranks on April 17, Anam joined on May 23, Basharat joined on August 1 while as Mehraj had joined on May 20 last year. Mehraj was category B militant while All other were category C militants.
