Kupwara: The residents of Arampora village in North Kashmir’s Kupwara district blocked Kupwara-Srinagar highway road on Monday to protest against shortage of water in their area.

The protesters said the area is without water supply from weeks now due to which we were forced to come on road and protest.
 Zahid Ahmad, a protester said that authorities ‘are nowhere to be seen even after being informed about the issues we face. “They were informed several times, at their office.”
A large number of residents of the village particularly women and children hit the roads and shouted slogans against PHE department for failing to provide them regular water supply.
The traffic movement was blocked by the residents in the area.
“The water supply pipes are blocked, we have applied for a new one line it will take three to four days to complete,” said an official.
However protest was going on when this report was filed.
