Shopian: Thousands of people visited Safnagri and Awneera villages of Shopian and participated in the funeral prayers of two militants killed in a predawn “gunfight” with government forces on Tuesday.
Reports said that that four back to back funeral prayers were held for slain militant Idrees Sultan from Safnagri village. “He was laid rest in a local graveyard here,” locals said.
Similarly three back to back funeral prayers were held for slain Amir Hussian from Awneera village of Shopian.
The duo were killed at Safnagri village of Shopian in a “gunfight” that police said erupted after government forces laid siege of the village.
