JRL march: Kashmir Chamber of Commerce & Industry protest in Lal chowk, seek tripartite talks

Srinagar: Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry protested in City Center Lal chowk against the Kulgam Killings that have shook the valley and global condemnation poured in.

The members of KCCI emerged in Lal chowk, marched holding banners that read ‘We demand structured, meaningfull and effective dialogue between leaders of India , Pakistan and Genuine representatives of our state.’

Mean while Jammu and Kashmir liberation Front chairman Yasin Malik was Tuesday arrested near Clock Tower Lal Chowk as he defied restrictions to thwart JRL called Lal chowk march against Kulgam killilngs.

“Malik tried to lead a protest march from Hamza Masjid Kokar Bazar Srinagar but was quickly detained by already deployed posse of police,” sources said. Restrictions have been imposed in Srinagar parts as well and City centre Lal Chowk has been sealed by the government forces.

Police and CRPF troopers have been deployed around Ghanta Ghar to stop people from assemblinfg.

Restrictions are in imposition in other city parts as well including Ashai Bagh bridge in Nigeen,in Hawal,  Barbar Shah, Khayam and other areas to foil the JRL call.

Meanwhile, schools and colleges in many parts of the Valley have been closed by the authorities today amid apprehensions of protests by the students. Class work has been suspended in most educational institutions in Srinagar, Budgam, Baramulla and south Kashmir parts as a “precautionary measure”.

Traffic police has already issued an advisory that no traffic movement will be allowed between Amira Kadal and Regal chowk while trafic coming from South Kashmir too has been diverted.
