Kulgam: Three militants were killed and two army soldiers injured in a gunfight at Laroo area of Kulgam in south Kashmir on Sunday morning.
A senior police officer said that the operation concluded resulting into the killing of three militants.
Among the slain, he said, two are Pakistanis and one local. However, their identities have not been revealed so far. Two soldiers also received injuries and have been hospitalized, he said.
Earlier a joint cordon-and-search operation was launched by army and police in the village following “specific information” about the presence of some militants.
At least dozens persons are said to have suffered injuries during the clashes in forces action near the gunfight site. Voice calling and mobile internet services have been barred in the area.
