SHRC Sub Office at Rajouri becomes functional, members to conduct sittings daily

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir State Human Rights Commission organized an inaugural ceremony of its Sub Office at Talwal Rajouri on Monday.
B.B.Vyas, Advisor to Governor J&K State was the Chief Guest, besides, Ab. Majid Bhat, Secretary, Law, Justice & Parliamentary Affairs, IGP Jammu, Mohd Aijaz Assad Dy.Commissisoner, Rajouri, SSP, Rajouri, President Bar Associations Jammu, Rajouri & Poonch besides, other guests participated in the inaugural ceremony.
“This day is the happiest day for the people of District Rajouri and Poonch,” a statement issued by the SHRC said.
The Commission’s Sub Office is housed in a rented building at Talwal Rajouri and will function round the year.
The Commission’s Chairperson Justice (retd) Bilal Nazki and other four members of the Commission will hold the sittings at Rajouri Sub Office, the statement said.
“Besides the people of Rajouri and Poonch who are the victims of human rights violations and whose cases/complaints are already pending in the Commission are informed that their cases will be taken at Sub office Rajouri from today onwards now,” it said, adding, “Fresh complaints will also be received at Sub Office Rajouri.”
