Kalam-Amin Tabish released at Info department

Srinagar: Poetry collection of former Director SKIMS, Dr Amin Tabish was Saturday released in a function here at Information department’s auditorium.

The poetry was released in the shape of an album, ‘Doad te Dug’, sung by prominent singers of Valley including Kifayat Faheem, Shaziya Bashir, Waheed Jeelani and others.

Several dignitaries including Advisor to Governor, Khursheed Ahmad Ganaie were present who graced the function as Chief Guest.

The function was organized by Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages in collaboration with Department of Information and Public Relations, J&K.

Dr Amin Tabish while talking to INS said that releasing this poetry was an initiative to towards preserving the Kashmir language. “Alone government cannot protect and retain the Kashmiri language, its stands the responsibility of one and all to come forward and take initiatives in this regard,” he said.

He added that the Kashmir dialect should be preserved, appealing parents and the head of the Kashmir families to prefer Kashmiri language so that the language can be preserved for the future generation.

Giving details about poetry that was released today; he said at least 15 Ghazals written by him were released today in the shape of an album. “The poetry was released with an aim to promote Kashmiri language among young generation,” he said.

He said that the Ghazals in shape of songs will be uploaded on social networking sites including youtube as well to promote the Kashmiri language worldwide.

Advisor Ganaie also spoke on the occasion and highlighted the importance of preserving the mother tongue.
