Srinagar: Two workers of National Conference were shot dead and another was injured after attacked by suspected militants in Habbakadal area of Srinagar city.
Reports said that the militants attacked the close aides of NC MLA for Habbakadal Constituency Shamima Firdous at Karfali Mohalla.

Police said that some unknown militants fired on three candidates at Karfali mohallah Habakadal due to which ‘two candidates namely Mushtaq Ahmad Wani,Nazir Ahmad died on the spot and another one Shakeel Ahmad Zangoo is Halka president of N C party got injured received bullet injury in his right arm, brought to SMHS hospital for medical treatment.’

In the incident, three activists of NC suffered injuries and were shifted to hospital for treatment, they said.

SSP Srinagar Imtiaz Ismail Parray confirmed to INS that two persons have died in the firing incident.
