Srinagar: A two-day lock down of offices by Public Health Engineering (PHE) employees began on Friday here to protest against the government for failing to release their wages from past two years.

All the offices, sub offices, division offices and others are locked down by the PHE employees including Daily wagers, casual labourers, ITI workers and Land donors to mark a protest in favour of their demands.

PHE Joint Employees Association president, Sajjad Ahmad Parray said that a to-day lockdown of offices has begun today, saying it will continue on Saturday as well.

“In case our demands are not met, we will be forces to stop water supply to the people across Kashmir,” he threatened.

Notably, the employees are demanding release of salaries that according to them are withheld from past 22 months and regularization of their services.
