Shopian: 2G internet services restored in Pulwama and Shopian of this southern districts after 11 days of suspension.

Internet were snapped after videos of resignations by SPOs went viral on social media and and authorities ordered suspension of high speed internet in the twin district. 

Militants had killed three policemen after being abducted from their places, that triggered the resignatin

Students and trading community were protesting since two weeks against administration as they were hit with the internet blockage badly.

Students had argued that as the examination is near they are unable to access online places to procure study material and other official formalities since being done online now.

While traders demanded immediate revocation of blockage as they were severely facing issues as they had to make payments and place or reply to orders placed on them.

“Its a harvesting season, so there are customers outside, we have to keep up with the market trends but internet is blocked. It has created lot of issues. Transfer of money has been badly hit particularly,” farmers had said.
