Ganderbal: Girl’s body found in same canal where brother’s was found two months back, both went missing before death

Ganderbal: Eight days after going missing, 25-year-old girls body was found in Power Canal Panzin Kangan Ganderbal, two months after her brothers body was found in the same canal in July. He too had gone missing.

The girl was identified as Wahida Awan daughter of Aalam Awan of Satrina Ganderbal. She had been missing since September 26.

Brother of Wahida, Shakeel Ahmad Awan (25) went missing on July 9 and later his body was found in the same Power canal near Panzin on July 28..

Police said that the body recovered from power Canal at Panzin village in jurisdiction of police station Kangan Ganderbal .

SHO Kangan Kursheed Awan said that locals informed about the body.

“A team of police officials immediately rushed to the spot and retrieved the  body from the power canal with the help of locals,” Khursheed said.

Police have taken cognizance of the case and investigation is taken up.
