Anantnag:- Intense clashes erupted on Thursday in Dialgam area of Islamabad (Anantnag) district as news of a local militant getting killed in an encounter spread in the area.

Sources said that youth in large numbers shouting pro-freedom and pro-militancy slogans hurled stones on forces passing through the area.

The forces fired tear smoke shells on the protesters to disperse them, however the clashes were going on when this report was filed.

Meanwhile in most parts of the District including the Islamabad township, people are observing a spontaneous shutdown to protest the killing of a local militant.
