Sopore: Militants on Wednesday evening reportedly offered gun salute to slain associate Abdul Majeed Mir at his native village in Tujjer Sopore in North Kashmir’s Baramulla District.
Reports said that a group of masked militants appeared in Tujjer village of Sopore and fired several rounds in the air to pay tribute to slain LeT militant Abdul Majeed Mir alias Sameer son of Bashir Ahmed Mir who was killed along with his associate Abu Maaz, a top Lashker commander in a gunfight at Nowpora Tujjer area of Sopore on Tuesday.
Reports said that group of militants fired several shots in the air and escaped from the spot.
Several thousands of people earlier this day participated in the last rites of Majeed at his native village and was laid to rest in a local graveyard outside his home amid sloganeering.
